A Fruit of Many Branches
Saskatoon, SK
As part of our work for the City of Saskatoon’s new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) System public art strategy, we developed a proposal for a series of art elements to be integrated within the bus network’s stations and stops.
Building on the consultation and engagement that we conducted as part of the wider public art plan, the Saskatoon berry (misâskwatômina) emerged as a shared reference that provided thematic touchpoint along the different transit routes. Prototyping for concrete stamping allowed for an economical inclusion as part of the overall concrete sidewalk pouring process.
