From Here to Place to Place - Burlington Civic Square Renewal
Burlington, ON
LeuWebb Projects is serving in the role of lead artist for the Burlington Civic Square Renewal Project. Our proposal, From Here to Place to Place, embraces the foundational role of the Civic Square in supporting a vibrant and public urban life, while enriching the Square’s potential by integrating new public art elements, as well as opportunities for art activations, throughout the Square’s new landscape design.
How can our relationship to municipal space be reimagined? How can we connect more openly, directly and playfully?
Our work expands on the idea of the city square as a space to open new directions and ways into an understanding of place, its histories, global interconnections, and future aspirations.
Through a series of creative engagements, LeuWebb developed a number of discrete creative additions to the fabric of the square, an exploration of the rich diversity of the city’s many communities represented through new artistic details added to the conversation.
